ARC Spring Challenge

Hey guys,
just a quick post about the ARC Spring Challenge that Ash and i went to a few wkds ago. It consisted of a dressage test, showjumping course, handy pony course and a variety of Cross country jumps.

Ash behaved very well and in my eyes did great considering it was his first EVER dressage test. OK so he wasnt round and working in a perfect frame, and was lacking impulsion. BUT he didnt put a foot wrong, he plodded round like a good boy, walked, trotted and cantered when i asked him too, got his leads right and i think he did a great job. So the dressage went good...although the judges comment "Try getting the horse to work in a nice rounded frame for better marks" was quite funny - but she did say he had good movement and three very nice even paces, and showed potential :-) only got 49.7% though..... BUT none the less i was happy with him and how we both went.

Then in the jumping - i could fault him. He didnt refuse ANY of them and took it all in his stride. We got a clear round in the showjumping and cross country at 65cm. In the handy pony, he didnt understand the concept of the gate hahaha OR the bridge, but he put his front two feet one it! BUT he did walk over the zebra crossing! hahaha the thing that basically every other horse refused!

The cross country was good, we had to jump hay bales, bruch fences and brightly coloured barrels - all which he barely looked at and went straight over. The only problem was....we went too fast - so we got time penelties. But i see that as a good thing :-)

And that was pretty much the day. Me and Ash - after being in last place after the dressage phase ended up getting 9th out of 19 riders by the end of the day - meaning that our jumping phase kicked us up a fair few places which made me REALLY happy!

So yeah. Iv put in a few of the pics i got sent by the ARC people...which arent many. Il try and get some more off my uncle.

Anyways. i will talk to you all soon!
Love Anna and Ash!
