Sundays Adventure

Today was the big and sad day when Grace left Yarrahwood Park :(
Dani and I stumbled out of bed and made our way to YWP to wake Jacky up who was still snoozing. (we'd all only had 3-4 hours sleep) Marcia and Martin arrived and we all got down to business loading up Marcia's gear and getting ready for the big move. Grace loaded after a little effort and then we were on the road.
It took a good 45/50 mins to get to oakfield but when we got there it was well worth it. The place Grace will call her new home is fantastic and the family were really nice. Grace settled in by rolling as soon as she put her hooves in the sand. She made friends with the other too horses there and was soon galloping around the paddock with them. Marcia will even have her own bridle trail to ride on! Very exciting!
We left Marcia too it then made the trek home. It was a really lovely day so Jacky had the great idea of going to the beach! We took the dogs and loaded up Condor and Mercy and off we went again.
We'd only left the house and were about 5 minutes down the road when something went wrong. Mercy was scrambling around in the float and had managed to disconnect the middle divider so it was swinging around loosely between the 2 horses. We had to pull over on and fix it up and in the process we all got bitten by massive bull ants.
We started moving again but the same things happened so Jacky took us to a side street and we off loaded the horses. The dogs were whining and barking wanting to know what was going on. I dont know how jacky managed to get the two pins back in again but she did all by herself! We had no problems loading the horses which was a big plus. Off we went again.
When the ocean finally come into view we all sighed in relief. Jacky had to take the corners and roundabouts at 5/10 ks otherwise Mercy would loose her balance.
Finally to the beach! Dan and I jumped on and made our way out of the car park only to find we couldnt get down the the beach as the pathway lead to a massive drop. We then had to make our way to a different entry point which the horses could slide/jump down.
The beach was a bit windy with waves but it was still great. I love it that Condor loves the water. Both horses were on their best behaviour. The dogs seemed to enjoy it and even Ellie went in the water! A few dogs came too close for her comfort though and she got a little angry.
After we'd all had enough we loaded back up and made our way home as quick as we could before stockfeeders closed and we made it with 15mins to spare.
And that was the end of our adventure. Thanks Jacky for taking us!
